Wait to tell you. Something very, very important. Something controversial. Something epic. Welcome to another episode of savvy cakes. I'm your host, mark savvy. You ready to hear it? At man and the wasp rules. It rules. It's so good. Yeah. I sing because when I talk on the podcast and I sing horribly, my dogs love it. I have two puppies Parker, N miles named after the, can you guess what to Spider-Man. The last episode was no intro music, no outro music. Uh, we covered and game was so epic. I've been gone for a while because I burnt myself out, watching too much Marvel. I needed a break. So I didn't put on an episode for a month. I didn't go on YouTube for a month. I was a little depressed because I've been trying to apply for a job. And you know what it's like when you, you. You don't even get a call back for an interview. You know how it feels you feel like a loser. That like you're worth nothing. You know what I mean? So it was tough, but I'm back at it. I'm excited. I I've gotten my mojo back. I wrote an, I wrote an epic article to work at screen rent. I did a sample article. They immediately rejected it, but it does not break my spirit this time. Cause I'm good. I'm feeling good. And I'm excited to talk to you about Ant-Man and the wasp. That movie, that movie had a budget of almost$200 million.$200 million. That's a lot. It's actually. Sorry, I hit my mic there. It's actually a little bit surprising that it had such a high budget. Well, what may be even more surprising is how much money it made. On a$200 million budget. Ant-Man and the wasp made 622. Million dollars. That's wild. I just want you all to know that I'm, I'm going to be recording. My, what you see from my perspective. Um, for my IgG story, you'll see it a day before the episode comes out. Just so you can see, like what I see, my cute dog is just lucky at me as I'm recording. Let me move my gross feet. Look at that. You have to go to my stories. You have to see it. It's adorable. High miles, high Parker. Daddy's recording an episode now. Love you guys. Back to Ant-Man and the wasp though. This movie was on real. It came out 2018, which is about the same year. Um, infinity war came out not about it's literally the same year. I couldn't remember. Y it, cause when I was going through the MCU movies in order, I couldn't remember why this movie came out. Before infinity war. I was like, I honestly completely forgot. It's been a while since I saw. Oh, sorry. Came up. Before end games want. I mean, it's been a while since I saw ant man and the wasp. And so I didn't really remember, but now I do at the end of the movie, he gets stuck in the quantum realm and that's what they use to. Save everybody in end game. This was a great film for what ant man is supposed to be. I know they took a step back with Quanta mania, but in this one, I think it's the best ant man movie. And it shows. The entire cast crew directors, writing everyone is at their best out of the three movies. Another unimportant character that was introduced in this film was ghost who's played by Hannah, John common hope. Ava stars, her characters name. I hope I got that. Right. I apologize if I didn't. She's going to be in the thunderbolts, which looked so good. I posted a YouTube short about the trailer. On real loved it. And in this film, she was such a good villain. There wasn't really. Like a main antagonist is like bad guy that they fight and defeat at the end, which I kind of like, there's like, um, different assortment of people at different times in the movie where the bad guy. So she stood out for me. I want to talk about the side characters a bit that stood out for me. Uh, Luis is always amazing. Another person who I absolutely loved is most people know him as Asian gym, but he's going to be known to the MCU as Jimmy. Woo. Played by Randall park. He was so funny at the end. There's this little bit they have with Scott Lang or he has with Scott Lang in. I mean where he just kinda talks about I'll see you again. It's got it's like, what do you mean. He's like, no, I just, this is awkward exchange. He was like, I don't know. I thought maybe you were asking me for dinner and then Jimmy was like, wait, do you want to go for dinner? It's kind of like, it's like, no, I was like, yeah, I didn't think so. Some shame. So good. What a great. Funny cast. At Manhattan and all the three. You know what, even in quantum mania, The secondary cast is always so good. And what I mean by secondary is you have, you know, you're Louise you're bill foster. You're Jimmy. Woo. These kind of second. They're like a little bit below the main guys in T in terms of screen time and importance to the film, then you have your main cast, which is Scott Lang hope van Dyne, Janet van Dyne and Hank pimp. Jonathan diamonds played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Who's. I guess most known for Catwoman. Let me know. I don't know. I don't really follow her career, but I think of her as cat woman. If she's not Catwoman. Oops. Michael Douglas is Hank. Pym always really, really good. Hope van Dyne was such a good love interest to Scott Lang and all the movies, which makes me so sad that Evangeline Lilly is retired from acting because she's one of my. Favorite actors on the planet. Everything she is. I love I'm looking at a signed poster of lost by her right now. At the very top leading the film and just. I know I keep using the same word, but it's just accurate. It's an accurate word to use. Crushing it. He absolutely crushed it. And that's Paul Rudd as Scott Lang the Titular character. I actually just saw a movie. Uh, with Paul Rudd in it called friendship. Wasn't a huge fan, but he's so good in this one. He's funny, he's charismatic. He's sympathetic. No missteps by Scott Lang. This movie didn't have like. This like. Uh, what, what we're doing. I want to use. Elevated acting, you know what I mean? What I mean by that is like, no, one's going to win an Oscar in this movie. And that's okay. It was so much fun. That's what these movies are. That's what ant man is supposed to be. He's the funny one out of the group, his moves are always been, I've always been the funniest. It did really well. And rotten tomatoes to this movie got 87% on rotten tomatoes. That's good. Cause it was funny. It was fun, you know? Ah, I use it. I use words a lot when I feel passionately about them. Well, let's talk about the MCU power rankings. And where at man lands. I'm going to put admin the wasp. Above ant man, one. At number 15 in our MCU power rankings. That means it's above ant man, armed men to dark world in iron man. Three. We have another. I don't know, like 13 movies to go. So I'm going to start, I really want to finish my, I was going to do it. Oh. An episode a week, but I really want to finish it this year if I can. So I'm going to try and. Pump out as many apps as I can. I feel better now. I know I burnt myself out, but I'm almost done. So I might as well power through, you know what I mean? And I love this is the best phase, but I would just find why did I get burnt out? But it's just. It's too much Marvel. I needed a break. Now I'm back. Oh man. The next movie is captain Marvel. I thought it was going to be end game. That's okay. Yeah, I actually, you know what, I take that back. I'm very interested in captain Marvel because. I always thought it was one of the weaker MCU movies. And I'm curious to see if that still holds up or if maybe. It's just not, maybe I just caught, got caught up in the negative hype around it.
