We are on movie to have this epic M C U or rewatch. I am mark savvy, host of savvy geeks. I got to say this one was kind of a sleeper for me. I don't know, like the whole came out a very long time ago. Very long time ago. Around 2008. 16 years ago, the Hawk came out. Totally forgot about this movie. And that's the thing with the way I did the rankings. I did them, how I remembered them before and now I'm going to re-rank the entire MCU from scratch. Ironman is number one. Uh, Ironman to obviously came at number two. Now we have the Hawk. Where's the Hawk going to go? Before we get into all that, let's go over some of the stats for the movie. So I'm going to pull up the, the a box office and the budget of the incredible Hawk right now. Okay. So we have a. Let's look at it right here. Okay. So we have a budget of, can you guess what the budget is? Let me give you a second. See if you can figure it out. I don't know if you could guess, right. But I guess we'll find out now. The budget of the Hawk is$150 million. That's a pretty high budget when you consider, when it came out. The box office for the incredible Hulk was. Give me a second here and make another guess.$268 million. So it did not do too well. But in spite of that, I got to say it was on real love, this film, some stray thoughts I had was I really feel like, especially seeing how bad-ass and kind of crazy he was in. Um, The incredible Hawk. I really feel like they nerfed abomination and she Hawk. And the funny thing is when I watched him and she Hawk, I thought he was great. He was really funny. Probably one of the funniest aspects of that show, but I don't know. It just, he was so bad-ass and incredible Hawk. They really ruined him and shell. When you think about it, Uh, you know, what ruins a wrong twist of war? Let me backtrack a bit. They took them in a direction where I feel like, and once I see the way he was before I would have been better to keep him. As more of a darker. Menacing character. I don't even know if we're going to get us season two, if she Hawk, I thought we were, but apparently, um, They looked at the budget and then we're like, nah, that's what the actress who plays. She hawked Tatiana. Mentally, I forgot how to pronounce her name, but that's, uh, that's not what she says. They told her, I guess she was joking. That's what she believed happened. Cause she doesn't know what's going on with it. When you think of the first appearance of the Hulk and Avengers, he was already pretty dark. There was that one line where he's like, I. I got to really dark place. I put a bullet. A gun in my mouth. And. The green guy spit out the bullet, I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically what he said. When you consider how light of a tone that movie, the Avengers really was. But the incredible Hawk. Was very dark. It is way darker than anything I've seen so far at Ironman. One. Well, I guess it's just the other it's way darker than the first movie. Of Ironman. It almost feels like that's where the Hawk thrives in that darker kind of tone. If we do get lucky and we get to see. Hulk movie. I hope they keep that going in. They have that, you know, like I said, dark tone, but what the hell? Why have we not seen an incredible hall for them? Is it because this one hasn't done too well? Or is it because everyone. He recognizes mark ruffle is the Hawk and he's part of the MCU and there's some kind of contractual bullshit. They got to get through. But even though mark rough flow has been amazing as the Hawkeys everything you could ask for. They definitely. Had a great. Bruce banner and Edward Norton. And that guy was. Just top-notch such this film had really good acting throughout. It's a hidden gem. Incredible Hawk is a hidden gem that a lot of people are sleeping on because we've just have so much superhero content that it's hard to sift through. Well, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm sifting through it for you, the listeners. So you don't have to. Watch your a dark world or your Greenland. You could find out from this guy right here, mark savvy. What's good. And what's not. But, you know what. I don't want to be a hater. I'm going to try and just enjoy the films. I'll tell you I'll rank them, but I'm not going to shit on anything. That's not me. So those are some of my stray thoughts, I love that idea of straight thoughts because what I do is I have the movie going as I'm building my Lego. And I write in my notes, what I'm thinking as it happens. So that's where I'm at abomination really stood out. the Hawk was really, really Oop. That's the one thing that kinda sucks about the direction they went with the Hawk. He's just not as crazy anymore. He was. So bad-ass in this film, like he was a scary. He was a monster. It was like a monster movie. And there was like a Kaiju. The battle between abomination and the Hawk. It was really cool. It's too bad that they kind of nerfed him and they made him combined with Bruce older. Like one being in the Hawk is kind of chill. That's not the Hawk. The Hawk is a monster. That's what I want. I want a bad-ass green monster who just. Is unstoppable and just takes everybody out. They've. If they've nerfed abomination, they definitely nerfed the Hawk. Bring us back, the Hawk we want, we want dark. We want powerful menacing. That is what really stood out for me in this film. That's what I think we need to see in the future of the hog. Bring it back. Like how do they even do that though? Because they didn't even really explain. Oh mean the big guy worked it out. What is that? What are you doing? That's it. Oh, we worked it out. Come on. That makes no sense. You're just not even going to give us any context to that. Just ridiculous. I said I wasn't going to hate, but it's hard because I really love the Hawk. And as I'm going through these, this rewatch already, the theme that. I am seeing is how good it used to be. How serious you used to be? How dark. Ah, that's just the word that I keep coming back to. It was just really well done. Iron man and Navajo, these movies are just not what we're seeing anymore. It's just become too silly, you know? Liv Tyler. Great actress. Great actress. She was at. Amazing lead to why? When we seen her, I, I guess, cause this is kind of like, I don't know, what was it paramount? I don't know the studio that this one's in, but maybe they had some kind of thing, but apparently she's coming back for. The, uh, the latest captain America movie, to finish off. I will give you where this movie ranked. So the big question you gotta ask is. Has it supplanted. Ironman is the number one film. Two movies in. The answer is no, it's going to come in at number second, but a very close second. I don't remember where I had it in my pre rankings, but it definitely isn't as high as I think it's going to stay now. Go see the Hawk. Seriously people. Great film.
