Welcome to the savvy geeks new year special hosted by yours. Truly mark savvy. Yeah, it's new years. Did you all have a great year? 2023 is done. It's finished. There's no going back after today. And I don't know about you guys, but I am so pumped with the year I had. I moved into a house with my beautiful wife. We decided to get another dog. I met, uh, what was it? Three celebrities. Jon Bernthal, Charlie Cox and Hayden Christiansen. Hayden Christiansen signed my, a Harry Rosen star wars book. That was an amazing highlight. I went to Milan and I saw a soccer game in the champions of the semifinals. I went to Milan again. Saw this beautiful wedding and Bergamo, which is like, I guess, a town close to malign. I don't know. I think so. I went to Switzerland. I went to Sweden. I went to Croatia. I went to Bosnia. This has been the best. Most productive year of my life. I'm so happy with everything I did. I went back to school. I, I learned a whole new skill set. It's amazing. And listen, if maybe. This year, didn't go the way that you wanted to, you didn't have a great year. That's okay, too, because you can just use that as motivation to have an even better year. Next year in 2024. None of those accomplishments. I mentioned however, or my actual new year's resolution for 2023. I only had one goal for that. For this year and it was to finish my novel. That is. Been my w. I don't know if you want to say life's work, but it's been something I've been working towards for two years and I've really struggled with it. I don't know. It's hard to write a book. And I haven't just been writing a book I've been writing. Basically a science for the book of religion, for the book of history. Uh, for. Without going too much detail a history for everything that's going to happen. Backgrounds upon backwards upon backgrounds. But I didn't finish the actual story. That's what my main goal was for this year is to finish the book. I am very happy to say that. I actually achieved my new year's resolution. I finished the book. I almost can't believe it. It's been such a journey for me. But it's not even close to being over. Because now I have to read it again. Edit it myself. Before I even send it to the next stage, which would be giving it to people that I know to edit. And then once they have reviewed it, I want to actually look into getting a publisher. To put it out. I'm taking this very seriously. It's my number one. Artistic endeavor. I would say right now. I would also love to do like a concept E P behind the book, write some music to it. That's actually something that I found a new passion for in the last few weeks is writing music music again. I guess I just, haven't been too passionate about music lately. Maybe that speaks to why I haven't gone to see a concert this year really may have seen a couple that I'm forgetting. Oh shit. I totally forgot two other great things I did this year. I went to two bachelor parties that were unreal, great times there. So let's add that to the list of awesome things I did this year. I went to a bunch of weddings. Whole li I think my wife said we went to six weddings this year. Jen, did we go to six weddings this year? She said, yeah, we went to six weddings this year. Yeah. That's a lot of weddings to go to Porsche. I think that's more weddings. And I've been in the last five years and we did it in one year. Let's move on now to. Kind of a year-end review of all the movies and shows that we got to see it. And for that, I think it'd be great to have my wife come up here now and talk about. With me. Jen. Let's talk some movies. How are you doing? Yay. Movie movies. What would you say is on your let's call it Mount Rushmore of movies that you've seen. Now I forget how many presidents are on Mount Rushmore. Again. I don't even know. We have to Google Mount Rushmore. I've never seen it. Um, Uh, four. Okay. That's stupid. Let's make it five. So I'll start off so you can remember. I will go across the spider verse. Is one, I will go guardians of the galaxy volume three is another. Oh, damn, that's harder than I thought. Shit. What movies came out. In 2023. Movies. That. Oh Barbie. Okay. So Barbie Oppenheimer that's for. You had to put both of those in there. Oh yeah. There are unreal movies. I was so into both of them. What else did I see that I really liked? I will put the creator up there. Yeah. So the crater is my number five. What about you? I'll I'll go through some of them. To help you remember? So you've got leave the old behind family plans. Saltburn. Uh, you had Oppenheimer Barbie, the creator GranTurismo came out. Remember we saw that that was an unreal movie. The killer, we weren't a fan of. Sound of freedom. The holdovers close or the flower moon. Didn't see any of that. Freelance. You know, some of these. I've heard of them. I haven't seen all of them. So, where were you at? What's your Mo. Mount Rushmore. Is it the same as Mika? That's all we saw. For me, definitely guardians of the galaxy volume. Tip three. Sorry. Yeah, that's fine. Three. That's my number one. I would say, oh, blood and honey came out that year to this year. I mean, Didn't see, I'd say, I guess, Oppenheimer. I really liked that. Don't forget we have a ghost. That was one with David Harbour, hopper from stranger things, quantum mania. Quantum media came out this year. Yep. Uh, cocaine bear came out this year. Yeah, that was a good one. Right? They're actually. so Sam came up this year. Didn't see the mark. Oh my God. We have to do this again because I can't believe that I forgot. So it goes Barbie Oppenheimer, guardians of the galaxy volume three, John wick, chapter four. Obviously. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. That's my number one. That's my favorite John wick movie. I'm going through all of them in the house because who remembers everything they saw the whole year. I'm trying to narrow it down to like what came out this year, because I also watched Mario bros movie movies that, that did not come out this year. Getting the mixed up, right? Yeah. That's the thing. It wasn't that bad. I wish you saw Blackberry. That looked pretty good. So for me, definitely John wick, four. I got across a spider verse, John wick, chapter four. Barbie. Oppenheimer and gardens of the galaxy volume three. That's my Mount Rushmore. Plus one. Okay. Mine is guardians of the galaxy. Um, the blocking. The flash. Oh, I like to flesh. That's the one with bear, like the live action one, right? Yeah. I like the flash. Teenage crackin. Oh, I love teenage crack in. Yeah, it was a lot of good ones accused. Pretty good year for movies. I really liked haunted mansion as well. I power through a lot of titles at the beginning, but now we're talking and I'm casually going through. And I'm only, oh my God. Tandra ninja. And you chose mute and mayhem. I'm seeing more of this way. I found a better list of show me. Um, Guardian's job. Beto John wick for Lupita was good. Bottoms is amazing. Little mermaid. So you got a little marae, John wick, four. Guardian guardians Oppenheimer. Oh my God. I forgot to put the crater, ah, shit. You said about the creator. I know, but I took it off for John Luke chapter four. I think that's valid. Crater was not good to me. Right. And Oppenheimer is pretty legit. So I'll put Oppenheimer on it. I keep up with. The creator. One more. How many, what do you have again? I had guardians. Four. Oppenheimer. Little mermaid mermaid. You didn't like Barbie. No. That's funny that you didn't like Barbie and I did. My last one, I think it would, marvels was pretty fun and see. I see that one. I know. I didn't get to see that. Um, I'd put the. Um, the flash, the flash. Wow. The story. Yeah. Good for you. So we have for Jen. On our Mount Rushmore of movies, plus one. The flash Barbie. Oppenheimer John wick chapter four. And what was the fifth one? Are you naming yours or mine? That's yours. Why would he's not in mine? Did I say Barbie? Yeah. Oh my God. John wick, chapter four. I'm getting mixed up. I'm sorry. People. Okay. It's been a long week. So here's Jen's Mount Rushmore. Jen, go list your five. Because I'll screw it up. John wick for Whiting. Writings of the galaxy two. Um, Volume three, but it's a number of times. Um, Oppenheimer. Yeah. That's your third one. Little mermaid. That's your forest and the flash, the flash. That's your five. For me, it's going to go guardians of the galaxy volume three, John wick, chapter four, which I thought was the best one. The. This is the final one. So this is the reiterated, right? John wick, guardians of the galaxy. Uh, oh my God. Also my favorite guardians, I think Barbie Oppenheimer across the spider verse. That's my five. That's it. That's true. Those are our Mount Rushmore plus one. If we're to go. Go on TV shows released this year. The one that sticks out to me the most and it's coming to mind. The quickest is Loki season two on real low-key basically, uh, runs. I'm sorry, but now I'm going to spoil it for you. Loki basically is in charge of all time. He runs a universe. Oh, wow. Yeah. And you have, what if. Uh, season two, which I thought was pretty good. So those are the main ones that comes to mind right away. It's been a good year for movies and up pretty okay. Year for TV, TV. And the Kardashians. Oh, that's recent seasons. Oh, we don't talk about that garbage. I didn't watch any of them, ones that you did that we watched the Santa clauses together. That was fun. Closets. let's not end off talking about your garbage shows that I can smell how bad they are. That's so much brain, right? You get watching the Kardashians and solving.
